The country's main supermarkets and online shops have stopped taking orders in Scotland in the run up to Christmas, because of the weather.

One in Five people in Swindon use eBay


Figures released recently show that 21% of people living in Swindon are registered with online auction house eBay. Tell us about your eBay experiences!

In figures released by eBay recently it shows that Swindon comes 27th in a table of UK towns who count web users amongst their population who are registered with the online auction site.
This means that out of the 180,000 people living in Swindon, one in five are eBay users!
This information was released in the week that eBay.co.uk is set to register its 10 millionth user.  Top of the table is Norwich and the the figures show that nearly half (44%) of Norwich’s total population is registered to trade on the UK site, the highest proportion of users from any town in the country.

'Entire life' sold for £192,000

A Briton living in Australia has agreed a bid of more than £192,000 after putting his "entire life" up for sale following a split from his wife.
Ian Usher, 44, who left Darlington six years ago, included his house, car, job and friends in the online eBay auction, in an effort to make a fresh start.
The lot attracted a peak offer of 399,300 Australian dollars (£192,276) when bids closed early on Sunday.
Despite expecting higher bids, Mr Usher said he had "no regrets".

Online ad site Craigslist has filed a countersuit against business rival eBay, alleging it used its minority stake to steal trade secrets.
In a complaint filed in a California court, Craigslist challenged allegations made by eBay in April.
EBay is suing Craigslist to "safeguard its four-year financial investment", claiming Craigslist executives took actions to dilute eBay's stake.
Craigslist has accused eBay of competing illegally.
